Birthday week for Ruby

Monday the 19th of March was Ruby's 2nd Birthday. She was able to make the decisions of what we were going to do that day. First she choose what to wear, her Cinderella dress. Then we did all of Ruby's favorite at home activities: playing with dolls, building blanket houses,

...going for rides on the blankets while I pull and dancing. A birthday for a 2 yr old would not be complete with out a visit to McDonalds.

Wednesday and Thursday we received some spring snow. It was the perfect snow for building a snow"man".

Ruby got a lesson in snowball throwing and caught on very quickly. She couldn't deal with the nonsense of gloves, but learned it is not so fun with your hand thaw out.

Adam was able to enjoy the snow in the comfort of his activity chair.

Ruby playing with the neighborhood kids.

For Ruby's birthday Stephen and I got her a set of Caillou books. I have read each of the 6 books enough to have memorized them already. Ruby enjoyed reading them to her duck friend. I just love these moments!

Adam got his first taste of real food this week.

I am not sure if he swallowed any of it. This is going to take some practice.

Party time! Saturday was party day. We started the day with a group hug, Adam is in bed.

"Fish" was the theme of the party. I decorated on Wednesday, because I knew I would not have time any other day. I think I spent more time fixing them, than initially putting them up.

The take home goodies, complete with goldfish

The cupcakes.

Ruby waited all week to see Uncle John. She knows she can convince him to give her a ride. She was one happy girl!

Let the party start. Ruby had 4 of her little friends come to the party: Helena, Kadin, Kaitlyn and Londyn.

No fish party is complete without some real fish. These belong to Stephen's mom Laura. they started from little feeder goldfish. The kids got a kick out of being able to touch them.

Opening presents

Kadin gave Ruby a hat, it instantly went on her head.

Then the birthday bags went on her head.

Caught red handed. It is so hard to wait for cupcakes.

Fishing time. My dad laid behind the curtain. All the kids caught some candy.

"Happy Birthday to you!" Blowing out 2 candles

I am sure she made a great wish.
Party over! Whew! Now, to play with those presents while Ruby naps
