Last week was the beginning of potty training for Ruby. She has been ready for awhile, but I have not had enough time to do it. We had nothing scheduled last week, so we went for it. Monday was awful, I wanted to give up. I gave it some more thought and came up with a more personalized plan that would work for RUBY.
1. She will do anything for cookies. She really loves chocolate chip, so I added some oatmeal in for a tiny bit of nutrition along with all you can drink juice.
3. We would make a HUGE deal about when she was successful, ie. jump around the house, clap, shout for joy.
the cookie reward
4. She would get to choose a member of the family to call. I contacted them ahead of time to see if they would be available.
5. Then the call was made and she had complete control of the phone. She has only had 3 accidents since this day, a week ago!!!!!!!!.
Many of the ideas came from a blog that was on Pinterest.
All the pictures are great and show how challenging and "fun" potty training can be. I love the way you customized Ruby's potty training experience! The picture of Ruby looking at her list of family members with checks by them is precious! My phone call was really special when Ruby called me!
